40ft Expandable Folding House Glass Curtain Wall

Instead of building on site, the 40ft expandable folding house arrives already finished and simply expands. The central body carries the structural load while the two folding wings add the living area, giving about 73 m2 once open. Insulated sandwich panels, double-glazed windows, a steel fire door, a complete 220 V electrical system and an 18 mm floor deck are standard. The result is a warm, dry, lockable room that can be handed over the same day it is delivered.

This 40 ft version replaces part of the external wall with a full glass curtain wall. The result is a 73 m2 space filled with daylight, which is exactly what showrooms, sales offices, cafes, restaurants, exhibition stands and studio spaces need. The glazing is double-glazed and framed in aluminium or steel, so the thermal and acoustic performance of the unit is retained, and at night the lit interior turns the building into a display case for the brand inside.

The structure is a fully galvanised national-standard steel frame. Top and bottom side beams, end beams and secondary beams form a closed box that carries the load of both wings, and 130 mm galvanised hinges take the movement of every fold. The frame is protected by electrostatic powder coating over an anti-corrosion coating, so the steel keeps its finish in coastal, humid and high-sunlight locations.

Walls, roof and partitions are 950-type EPS colour steel sandwich panels with 0.3 mm steel on both faces - 65 mm for the external walls and wing roofs, 50 mm for the roof, ceiling and partitions. The floor is an 18 mm glass magnesium board laid over the main frame and both wings, which stays flat and stable under furniture loads and resists moisture from below.
