Description

The 40ft expandable folding house is built for customers who want a permanent-feeling building that can still be relocated. It ships folded, is craned into position, and then opens into a 73 m2 insulated living space. All finishes - ceiling, wall panels, floor, lighting and power outlets - are completed under factory conditions, so quality does not depend on local labour. Connecting two units side by side or stacking them is also possible when a larger floor plan is needed.

This 40 ft version keeps the panels white and adds a pitched roof and a covered porch. The white finish reflects heat - important on a building this size - and the pitched roof removes the flat-deck drainage problem altogether, making the unit suitable for heavy rain and snow regions. With three bedrooms and 73 m2 inside, it works as a full family home, a staff house for a remote site, or a large holiday rental that sleeps up to eight.

Every unit sits on a galvanised steel frame built from national-standard square tube and bent sections. The top and bottom beams run the full length of the body and continue into the wings through 130 mm galvanised hinges, so the opened floor is level and rigid. Electrostatic powder coating with an anti-corrosion undercoat gives the frame a long service life even in wet or coastal climates.

The envelope uses 950-type EPS colour steel sandwich panels: 50 mm on the roof and inner ceiling, 65 mm on the side, front and rear walls and on the wing roofs, and 50 mm for internal partitions. Glass magnesium board of 18 mm forms the floor across the main body and both wings, giving a rigid, moisture-resistant deck that accepts laminate or PVC finishes.
